![]() ![]() Lsyncd has the feature of syncing from one source to multiple targets. My set up is C: to D: Real-time and D: to F: Batch to external hard-drive. Use direct copy instead of transaction to speed up versioning. and started to get a write problem to Pictures and Videos files. Unified rendering of disabled grid layouts Count moved file pair as one update in view. Lsyncd aggregates events up to 1000 separate events, or a 15-second delay before synchronizing, whichever happens first, so our changes may not be synced immediately. I recently updated Free File Sync from v10.17 to v10.25. $ echo "This is line 2" > sample/source/file01.bin If we edit files in the source directory, lsyncd will automatically reflect it in the target directory: $ cat sample/source/file01.bin $ lsyncd -rsync /home/baeldung/sample/source /home/baeldung/sample/targetġ5:41:03 Normal: - Startup, daemonizing. ![]() Show drive space usageas a directory tree. The command above will copy/mirror the source directory recursively to the target directory: $ tree sample Compare and synchronize multiple files in parallel. If the target directory is on a different machine: $ lsyncd -rsyncssh /home/baeldung/sample/source/ target-path/ The only synching option which seems to be available involves deleting everything in the destination and copying everything over fresh. Let’s set up a local lsync: $ lsyncd -rsync /home/baeldung/sample/source /home/baeldung/sample/target I am unsure if there is a faster way to send this (over the net is not. At this rate it will not be done until the year 2054. I have been using freefilesync to put these onto 2 4TB drives but right now it is going like 1.25KB a second (1.27TB to go) because of how many tiny files there are. Our ~/sample/source directory will now sync to ~/sample/target directory every minute. There is about 4 million files, totaling about 6TB. The script removed the files in the target directory successfully. Option to move files to Recycle Bin instead of deleting/overwriting them. FreeFileSync supports double-click to show files in explorer, copy & paste support to export file lists, and sort files by name. Let’s delete a file ( ~/sample/source/file01.bin) from the source to see if it will also delete the same file from the target: $ rm sample/source/file01.bin FreeFileSync features an easy-to-use UI that is geared for speed and huge sets of data.
